Biographie

Marcelo G. Kohen est professeur de droit international à l’Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement à Genève. Membre de l’Institut de Droit international et son secrétaire général depuis 2015. Avocat et conseil d’États de quatre continents devant la Cour internationale de Justice, le Trinunal international du droit de la mer et d’autres tribunaux. Il agit également en tant qu’arbitre international. Il a été rapporteur de l’International Law Association, du Conseil de l’Europe et de l’Institut de Droit international. Auteur de plus d’une centaine de publications dans le domaine du droit international, en anglais, français et espagnol. Lauréat du Prix Paul Guggenheim en 1997 pour son livre Possession contestée et souveraineté territoriale.
